I took this Reenactment Photograph at Historic Endview Plantation in Newport News, Va. Several very large realistic Reenactments are held on the huge Plantation grounds there each year where large earthworks have been dug for these events. In this Photograph, one can see the smoke rising from the black power of the cannons being fired from behind the earthworks upon the enemy forces in the distance as the Confederate Troops out front prepare for a gallant charge. This is a Sepia Photograph, which really brings the viewer into this turbulent 19th century period.
